Due to a busy week at work at the Chamber I only managed to catch snippets of the news and misheard some of the headlines, hence I was panicked into buying surplus pasties (currently stored in my jerry can in the garage) and was horrified to hear the planned 20% increase in petrol prices.
So, as a protest stance against the unreasonable pastry and savoury snack policies of the main stream parties, l voted for the Pride Party in the by-election. Only to find that it does not have a firm policy on pasties, pies or sausage rolls. The worst thing is that, unlike David Cameron, I don’t even like pasties! Meaning all that time queuing at Greggs at lunchtime rush hour was a waste of time.
(Only one of the above statements is partly true!)
On the subject of voting did anyone tune into FiveLive last Thursday to hear Chamber President Stephen Wright comment on the results of the by–election? To echo his sentiments, whatever your political persuasion, what is undoubtedly important to Bradford is the creation of jobs and a sustainable economy. Here at the Chamber we will be doing our upmost to support local business regardless of pasties, petrol and politics.
